Robben Island.

If
you have time in Cape Town, then a visit to Robben Island should be on
your list of museums to visit. After a 30 minute boat ride to the island
you board a bus and travel around learning about the history. The bus
drops you at the prison where a former political prisoner takes you through
explaining the history of the prison and his personal story.
The whole tour takes around 4-5 hours and is around R150 per person. The
ferries leave from the Clock Tower Waterfront every hour between 9am and
3pm depending on the season. This tour generates a lot of interest and
in high season can be fully booked around 4 days in advance. I would be
happy to enquire about tickets on your behalf in advance.
Shark Cage Diving
Situated
around 2 hours drive from Cape Town, Gansbaai is the place for shark cage
diving. Leaving Cape Town around 6am and arriving in Gansbaai for breakfast
and an introductory lecture on the Great White Shark. The boats are launched
shortly afterwards and off you go in search of the sharks. There are 2
islands which are home to a colony of seals and is a good place to find
the sharks. Chum is thrown into the ocean to attract the sharks towards
the boat. When they arrive, a cage is lifted into the ocean so that it
rests just below the surface. Wetsuits and snorkelling equipment are provided
so that you can view the shark from under the ocean.
Non divers are very welcome – the price is the same whether you
enter the water or prefer to view the sharks from the boat. You return
to Cape Town late afternoon.
